Shobhna S. Kumar is a pioneering force in Indian queer literature and publishing. 1 She is the founder of Queer Ink, India’s first online bookstore dedicated to LGBTHQIA+ literature and a driving force behind the amplification of queer Indian voices. Recognising the need for authentic representation, she has dedicated herself to creating platforms for queer stories to be told.
Building on her work as India’s only queer publisher and promoter of the Queer India Archives, Shobhna S. Kumar (founder of Queer Ink, established in 2010) has launched Queer Ink Writers’ Studio. The studio will operate under the Queer Ink umbrella and focus on LGBTHQIA+ India and emerging queer Indian storytellers.
